Thealoz Total keeps the 3% trehalose and 0.15% hyaluronic acid from Thealoz Duo, added in is NAAGA, a soothing peptide the eye already recognizes.

Duo is one of our best sellers and it's great at keeping a dry eye wet. It was never really aimed at the red, itchy, irritated side of dry eye. If your eyes are dry but calm, stay on Duo but If they're dry and itchy by mid-afternoon, Total would be the one.

Who should grab this one (and who shouldn't)

Théa built Total for moderate to severe dry eye. It's suitable with any type of contact lens and it's for adults only.

It isn't an allergy drop as there's no antihistamine in it. If your eye itch comes with sneezing and a runny nose, talk to your optometrist about an allergy drop. Total may help relieve the irritation that sits on top of dry eye, but not hay fever itself.

The bottle takes a day to get used to

This is the ABAK bottle, which is the same as Duo. It filters every drop, which is how it stays preservative-free for 3 months after opening. The very first drop is slow, so squeeze gently and wait a second.

  • 1 drop per eye, 3 to 6 times a day

  • Wait 15 minutes between this and any other eye product

  • Write the opening date on the box. Don't use it after 3 months even if there's some left
